Mrs. Virginia Thornton, age 79 of Griffin, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Christian Ministries Hospice.

Mrs. Thornton was born February 4, 1929 in Griffin, daughter of the late Alvin Kent, Sr. and the late Eula Mae White Kent. She was a member of the Highland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis Thornton; brothers & sister-in-law, Billy & Elaine Kent and George Kent all of Griffin and niece, Andrea Poole.

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Thornton will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel. Rev. Herb Flanders will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
